Searching for hair loss treatment options but aren’t sure which option is the best for you? Considering Rogaine but aren’t sure if it is the right choice for you? At Ink 2 Scalp we specialize in Scalp Micropigmentation, a hair loss treatment option. Today, we’re discussing Rogaine and what happens if a patient discontinues use.
What Is Rogaine?
Rogaine (also known as minoxidil) is a medication used to help patients regrow hair. It is unknown how exactly Rogaine helps the scalp regrow hair, however it is believed that Rogaine dilates blood vessels on the scalp, improving hair follicle function along with stimulating hair growth. Rogaine is applied directly to the scalp twice a day for the best results.
What Happens If I Stop Rogaine Treatment?
When it comes to using Rogaine it is important to note that continued use of the product is needed to maintain any hair regrowth. If a patient stops using Rogaine, continued hair loss will begin to occur again. After stopping Rogaine, most patients will lose their newly regrown hair in about 3-4 months, leaving you with hair loss and baldness staged at the same level as previous use of Rogaine. It is important to make Rogaine a part of your daily routine if that is the hair loss option you select.
How Long Do I Need To Use Rogaine?
As mentioned above, Rogaine treatment needs to be applied twice daily for optimal results. Discontinuing use of Rogaine will result in normal hair loss like previously experienced.
